I use this pencil a lot. It goes on creamy, and is nicely pigmented. It is a pain to sharpen, so you'll need to get it cold to sharpen it. It doesn't last all day, but it lasts for many hours before fading(even on my waterline). It can smudge, but I onę noticed product on my hand and not my face. I would buy these again if they were on sale.
Pros:Goes on creamy, lasts hours Cons:Hard to sharpen, smudges
This is not as dark as I would expect a dark brown to be. It sort of between dark and medium. It's also slightly bronze. That surprised me, since the color name didn't hint that there would be any shimmer. The pencil is a bit of a pain to sharpen, because the liner is creamy. Which is really nice for applying, but it gets stuck in my sharpener. I have to get the pencil cold to sharpen it. Other than that I have no complaints. It doesn't last all day, but it does last for many hours before fading begins. It's not smudge proof, so be careful. I have accidentally smudged it, though it wasn't noticeable on my face. I happend to notice some liner on my hand was all. I would buy these again if they were on sale.
Pros:Goes on creamy, long lasting Cons:Can smudge, a pain to sharpen
I bought this pencil for highlighting my tear ducts, but I found that it really doesn't work all that well for that. It does help to wear it under my shadows to help them pop, though I do find that with some shadows it will make them look cakey. It will crease on me, so a base is necessary. Overall this is an OK product, but not something I will ever buy again. It goes on creamy, and doesn't pull my eye lids. You need a jumbo sharpener, because the pencil is thick.
Pros:Makes shadows pop, creamy, doesn't pull my lids Cons:Discontinued, creases, makes some shadows look cakey
I bought this mascara because It was recommended to me buy a friend. I had never bought this kind before, because I always wanted volume. I have used their thickening mascara, but it never had done anything for me. I had nevr thought to ever try lengthening mascara. I am so glad my friend recommend this too me. I AM in LOVE! This mascara is definitely one of my HGs! It gave me super long lashes! I did about three coats, and I was pleasantly suprised that it added a little volume and lots of length. It didn't smudge or smear either! At $2 a pop, how can you afford NOT to buy this mascara?
Pros:Length, No Smudge Cons:Not too much thickness
N.Y.C Cover sticks are one of those products I buy again and again because, honestly, you can't beat that kind of quality for the price. They're SO creamy and can be used as a primer as well as concealer. I'm not quite fond of the packaging, though. They come in these weird lipstick tube things that are awward to use, so I put mine into a little pot instead. The shades offered are all really light, though, so it isn't so great if you're more tan/dark.
Pros:Creamy, versatile Cons:No real shades offered for medium and darker skin tones.
I bought the pressed version in natural light and it matched mt NC15 skin pretty well and it was cheap. Those are the only 2 good things about this. The brush it comes with sheds a lot and is way too small to use for the entire face. Besides that, it isn't buildable and gets chalky and powdery looking after a second light layer. I tried applying this wet and dry, using a kabuki and a skunk brush and I can't make this look good even with a good moisturizer and a primer too.
I love this eyeliner. I own it in black and I use it everyday.
The applicator is a brush type, which takes a little time to get used to. However, I perfer it to felt tip.
This eyeliner does not wear off. I wear it from 6am-9pm every day. This includes a 1.5 hour swim practice and it still stays on!
The product in the bottle does tend to dry up after a little while (a year or so) but I throw mine out then anyway because I don't want to have bateria.
Overall, this is a wonderful product at a cheap price.
Pros:Stays on very well, gives a nice black line, very cheap Cons:Applicator brush not felt tip (which I find easier but I know many people hate), tends to dry up after a little while
Great two in one eyeliner combo, Very inexpensive, doesn't smudge and is pretty smooth. Be sure to keep it out of waterline, it's really not meant for that area, it will run and smudge like crazy in your eye.
Pros:cheap, 2-in-1 Cons:very long pencil hard to fit in some bags.
I bought it just to give it a try, since I've been on a really long
journey finding the perfect foundation and concealer and I can say I
was VERY surprised! It worked wonders! =) To me it's perfect in shade
and in packaging, since I prefer concealer sticks rather than the
liquid-y ones. I bought it on a small pharmacy, it was 1.99, BUT they
had a coupon for $1 off any NYC purchase of $1.99 or over, so yeah, it
was just .99 cents!! (1.04 + tax ;D) Can't beat that price! =)
This is my HG pink gloss. It's full coverage, shimmery, and cheap. All qualities I want in an HG gloss. I won't say to go with this product if you want full coverage, because the coverage switches from shade to shade. I tried other pink ones and they were sheer.
I was not satisfied at all with this product. If your looking for products that work on the inner rims this is not for you.. The packaging is incredibly cheap and the botom half will also come off when you take of the cap. It was only two dollars, so if you line the outside of your eye and don't mind the bad packaging go ahead.
Pros:Can be used for lining outside of eye, low price Cons:bad packaging and runs on when used on inside rims.
This lipgloss has been highly toted as a dupe for MAC's Nymphette(?) lipgloss. I have not purchased the MAC gloss, but I have purchased this one and I quite like it. It is a gold/pink color with a lot of metallic shimmer in it.The gloss was a steal at the price of $1.72 at my local Target, compared to the MAC lipgloss at $14.
I would recommend this product!!
Pros:Dupe of a higher end brand lipgloss for a lot less. Cons:The gloss has a soapy aftertaste to it that might turn off some people.
This bronzer is o.k. in my point of view. It doesn't give off a whole lot of color, however what it does give you is natural, matte, and probably looks good on lots of skin tones just for the fact that it's so sheer. I feel like I kind of need to use a lot for it to make a difference on me, but it is one of those items in my stash that I can count on because it won't ruin my look by any means.
I loved this product. The price was definitely right. I tend not to use the brush it comes with, but if you're careful with the brush, it's not so bad to have the whole kit in your purse, it's just that small. The packaging is a pain, and sometimes you can't get the cover back on if you've completely removed it, but the product and the utensils aren't bad for how cheap it was.
Pros:lots of good product for a good price Cons:utensils are pretty small and packaging not great
I have the NYC translucent loose powder which i LOVE. So when i needed a compact for my purse i decided to get the pressed powder by NYC. The compact really sucks so i popped it out and put it in the covergirl compact i had. The powder is way too white for my skintone but it does keep me oil free. I dont want to throw it out so ill probably keep it and use it lightly with a powder brush.
Pros:dirt cheap and it does keep me oil free. Cons:too white
I love how you get two eyeliner colors in one, so you don't have to go searching around for two basic colored eyeliners all over the place. The black is pure black, not a gray-ish color that I usually get, and the brown that comes with it is awesome! It might be my favorite shade of brown in an eyeliner I have.
I've been using these for years now, and will continue to, since it lines my eyes and stays pretty nicely on me. One of the best cheap and cheerful buys!
I looooovveeee this lip gloss. It is a beautiful wine/berry color that goes on the lips with ease. There is however a smell and taste to the lip gloss that reminds me of shampoo, fortunately the smell and taste is slight and it doesn't bother me at all.
I love NYC and I prefer their lip glosses to the more expensive stickier versions.
Pros:Great color, price and a lot of product in the tube. Cons:Slight smell, taste.
This is my HG pressed powder. It makes my skin matte for hours without looking too dry and doesn't leave a white cast or looking like powder. Plus it's really cheap. I don't really like the packaging because sometimes the bit of loose powder will settle in at the sides and when you open the case, it can be a bit of a mess.
Pros:Looks matte but not powdery, price Cons:Packaging
I wrote a rave for this liner here, and knew I should write a review. You can get a lot more details on my thoughts from the thread, but I'll give you the gist of it here.
These liners are awesome! No running or fading from the waterline, goes on smooth as silk, and cost 1/4 of MUFE's Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencils. 13 hours later, as I sit and write this review, I still have an awesome black line on my waterline just as if I just applied it!
Most girls can probably find these anywhere NYC is found, which makes it great for those who don't have a lot of major brands around them.
I highly recommend these for anyone looking for a great, waterproof liner. Be it for your waterline or lashlines. I definitely plan on repurchasing these liners, and will probably stock up on all of the colors available (Black, Dark Brown, Mink, Smoky Plum, Moody Blue, Sky High and Teal).
Pros:Lasts all day; doesn't run or fade; very inexpensive; should be easy to find for most Cons:None
